Boston Zoo May Close and Kill Animals

I'm not a fan of zoos on principle. But I know there are good zoos and bad zoos. Unfortunately I think there are way more bad zoos than good ones. But even for a bad zoo, this is awful. A lot of the comments are just about keeping zoos open for families and children. Who would they euthanize?

Mother and baby are currently in an area out of guest view so they can be closely monitored by zoo staff to ensure the baby is nursing and growing properly. It is common for other members of the giraffe family to become involved with the care of newborns, and this baby will be joined by another new baby giraffe before summer.

I worked with a pair of motmots at a US zoo and fell in love with their vibrant colors and unique tails.
