Something was clearly badly wrong with both of his back legs, I’m no vet, but I would guess they had both been broken. We tried to sight and count the pack twice every day so that if any of the dogs got snared we’d know quickly and could get a vet in to dart them, free them and clean up the wound.

I’m an author, good character names are fair game) joined the family and something rather miraculous happened. My second favorite rescue story is that of Hunter, a beagle-ish dog that my daughter and son-in-law adopted from a shelter in Massachusetts. Because she had never been socialized, this cat did not even know how to purr.
