Week 23: The advenure continues, Stateside

10,000 Birds

We arrived in Seattle 6 days ago, at 12:30 in the morning, after being on the road, in one form or another since February 1st. Circumstances have been such, that the bulk of my visits to Nisqually, have been in the winter, so the refuge, in the peak of a Seattle Summer, is a much different place. Back in the US of A!

Week four: We wrap up our stay in the US.

10,000 Birds

The end of this rather long road trip finds us here in Puyallup, Washington which is just south of Seattle. This location is great as it is close to Jeanne’s Family, as well as a very short drive to the Billy Frank Jr. It seems like the farther the north we go, the colder, and wetter, and a whole lot snowier it gets! Nisqually NWR.

Nisqually Delta Wildlife Refuge

10,000 Birds

The last weekend of January found me in the frosty Pacific Northwest, meeting some long over due work and family obligations. This wonderful piece of birding real estate can be found 8 miles east of Olympia, and an hour’s drive south of Seattle Washington, right along the I-5 corridor. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.
