Despite more than 50 kite, hawk, eagle, and falcon species on the list, nope, we don’t see raptors all that often! I didn’t even include owls in the 50 plus list species of raptors. This is a pair of Tropical Screech-Owls from the Osa Peninsula. Not the case in Costa Rica. Fogged optics! : The Trip was Too Short!

As things appear to be returning to normal, The UK suffered its worst ever week for Covid infections. 1539 is the year list total so far and the life list has reached 4081 as Northern Pygmy Owl , Emperor Goose and Lined Seedeater swelled its numbers. 217 Great Horned Owl – Bubo virginianus. 9 Mute Swan – Cygnus olor.

This morning, they have seen some 10,000 Broad-winged Hawks , mixed up with two dozen Swainson’s Hawks , several Mississippi Kites and one or two King Vultures , Swallow-tailed and Double-toothed Kites , Merlins and Peregrine Falcons.
