My husband has two friends (a male/female couple) who are transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and I also have two friends (both women) who are transitioning from omnivore and all are dreading Thanksgiving. The conversations with family and friends have already begun about "Turkey Day." I don't know, maybe 20 years of experience.

The two objections to a vegan Thanksgiving that I hear most often are: It's our tradition and Because it tastes good. Justice for beings who look very different from us but who, like us, experience pleasure and pain, boredom and frustration.
