Shelves of feeders to choose from, ranging from inexpensive tubes to porcelain sculptures; bags and barrels of shelled and unshelled seed, including something called variously thistle, nyjer or niger; guidelines on when, how, where to do the actual feeding. There was cleaning, lots of cleaning of feeders and yard. And squirrels.

He had a legal permit to own them (Conditional Species Permit), and had legally microchipped them according to FWC guidelines. The man who owned the snakes, Chris Coffee, had legally possessed them for years. In 2021, Florida banned reticulated pythons, forcing Coffee to find homes for the pythons outside of Florida.

For me, using T he New Stokes Field Guide to Birds, Western Region was a happy experience. Vagrants and accidentals need to be researched in the parent volume.
