I only scored 43 in March, but that was because I was away birding in Portugal and Estonia. A single Eleonora’s Falcon was a very pleasing if not unexpected, and a year-tick. My overseas trips did boost the overall year list considerably. Later in the month, a flock of several hundred Avocets on the River Alde was also memorable.
