The Pied Oystercatcher pairs are all in their breeding territories and we can expect to find eggs laid in the first week of July along the coast here. They are a lot more successful than the Pied Oystercatchers at breeding, but their eggs and chicks are somewhat smaller and appear to be less attractive to predators. Ruddy Turnstones.

June 2, 2010 BP apparently bans workers from showing dead or dying wildlife and from talking to the press. Officials reported 48 marine mammals, mostly dolphins, and 87 dead sea turtles during the first two months alone. We documented the relocation of several turtle nests.

Carpet Shark washed up Carpet shark being returned to the sea I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into our varied wildlife here in the north of Australia. These do lay eggs on land and are (reasonably) mobile once they hit the beach. Get yours today! It seems like there is great diversity in this continent.
