10,000 Birds

Atherton (1797-1827), a naturalist (whatever that means exactly) and a member of the British Army in India. Weavers

10,000 Birds

African Harrier-Hawks, snakes and other predators frequently raid weaver colonies to rob the nests of eggs and chicks. Photo taken by Adam Riley near Delhi in India. Their nests are also a messy structure due to protective thorns on the outside, but the interior is constructed of softer grasses. It has a tropical African range.
