If PCRM can get more people to try a "vegan diet" for 21 days as suggested, which is what in my experience used to be called "strict vegetarianism" (and which is no better), that's an actual decrease in animal use for those people. If they did that, they'd most certainly get pounced on.

I say "if you know someone" because this isn't a book I'd recommend to vegans for their vegan education efforts. He always refers to himself and his wife and his child as "vegetarian." But why does he say "vegetarian?" He never says he is. Then again, he is not against the consumption of animals, " in general " (198).

I do know people who became vegan (also after watching " Earthlings ") who are now vegetarians, pescetarians and run-of-the-mill omnivores. Someone who goes from vegan to vegetarian to eating cows isn't really in a position to judge anyone. What does this mean? We role play with questions or comments he gets at work.

There is a general consensus that vegetarianism and veganism are different philosophically. I'm still not sure why vegan education can't be part of any of these efforts. ). How about this? What do you think?
