A shot or two coming from the opposite bank, but they do not sound like geese shooting – more like boar hunting. A goose hunt sounds like a WWII battle. Scanning the water for rarer species… S. We counted more than 35 of them, relaxed and fearless, clearly not hunted. Easy – it is forbidden to hunt at night.

One odd flock of Feral Pigeons above an arable field under deep snow – nothing for them to eat there, but I didn’t give them the attention they deserve and only a few hours later realised that they actually were Stock Doves. And I didn’t pay enough attention because one very dark eagle flew by at the same time, an adult Greater Spotted Eagle.

I also often observe a pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles towards the hills on my left as I follow this section of trail. I always approach the bridge slowly to see what bird species are below and around the area. There is a family of feral foxes that I often encounter near Bennison Creek. Pacific Black Ducks. Bennison Creek Bridge.
