Around the picnic area at the weir the Galahs were busy on the ground feeding and the ground was also littered with the tips of the trees. It is always good to visit Herdsman Lake in Perth, which is easily accessible by public transport, but if you have a vehicle it is definitely worth a drive out to the Perth Hills. Glen Brook Dam.

On a very quiet night during a lull in the drama of the ducks, I was researching the Greyhound racing industry, and seething over its treatment of dogs as well as the support it often gets, through subsidies, to help it survive. Outside he went, transported in plastic, back to his home in the wilds of suburban West Palm Beach.
