Week 31: Visits to Hart Mountain, Malheur and the surrounding areas.

We are wrapping up our last week in the great state of Oregon, and made visits to many of the old haunts of my childhood. Two full days at Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge, three days at Dog Lake, and a short visit to Upper Cottonwood Lake brought back many great memories, in addition to a nice list of birds. The bunny got away.

Dogs are able to detect diseases such as cancer and diabetes and warn humans of impending heart attacks and strokes. Dogs Sniffing Out Disease. As we know, dogs have a keen sense of smell. More research is needed, but initial studies by the Pine Street Foundation and others on using dogs for diagnosis are promising.
