Little Black is in a large dog kennel, curled up in her litter box, going nowhere near her tasty, stinky canned food, and she will be returned tomorrow. Just in case you were wondering what an 85-lb red fawn greyhound looks like from the back with a couple dozen acupuncture needles in him. As for Project Treadstone, there have been three fatalities-by-automobile and one litter of three kittens, two of whom were caught and adopted fairly early. I've had those. been there. My poor boy.

On a very quiet night during a lull in the drama of the ducks, I was researching the Greyhound racing industry, and seething over its treatment of dogs as well as the support it often gets, through subsidies, to help it survive. And you can’t drive on the Interstate without seeing signs telling you when to exit for the “Dog Track.”
