An enormous victory was achieved for animals this week when nearly 200 dogs and 54 cats were rescued from a North Carolina animal testing facility that closed its doors after an undercover investigation revealed apparent abuse of the animals by workers at the facility.

Juluri is referring to something specific: the Supreme Court's examination of First Amendment protection of acts of cruelty to animals. But the ease with which we can tell our stories and post our videos must not render us incapable of moral judgment and decency. Here's my question: What about, say, videos taken inside slaughterhouses?

I choose not to watch videos or bombard myself with images of suffering. When a new video is released on YouTube of abuse at a slaughterhouse (as if it's not all abuse, by the way), I don't watch. In other words, I don't immerse myself in animal cruelty. Tags: Activism Current Affairs. I know it's out there.

Four lions, rescued by Animal Defenders International (ADI) from a Bolivian circus when the country banned the use of animals in circuses have a new home, and a life of luxury at the ARK 2000 sanctuary in Calaveras County. The ADI rescue operation was backed by Bob Barker. ADI also rescues animals in distress worldwide.
