New England Reptile Distributers just released a video explaining a terrible incident involving the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). This is also present in birds & mammals, however it is not fully present in fish & amphibians. This is where I'd like to bring up "anthropomorphic bias."

At a minimum, catching and releasing a fish inflicts pain, terror, and temporary disability. Many fishes are released with a gaping hole where they were stabbed and held aloft for photos" (66). . Fishers who catch and release may kill more fishes than those who catch only the number they're legally allowed to keep.

It is certain, then, that the practice of flesh-eating involves a vast amount of cruelty, a fact which cannot be lessened or evaded by any quibbling subterfuges. I eat chicken, fish, and eggs. Surely that counts for something, morally. Does that mean he was not expressing profound moral truths? Am I a hypocrite?
