If that’s not possible, she needs the knowledgeable care of a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Wildlife rehabbers love the public. They may have no idea what they’re doing, but their compassion overrides their doubt. Why do wildlife rehabilitators not love the public? I know nothing about kids.

None of the wildlife staff were at the gate when the man arrived with the hawk, so he gave it to a groundskeeper, who pushed it into a box with a stick. The groundskeeper didn’t know that wildlife rehabilitators must always obtain the finder’s name, address and telephone number.
