as I was running this morning, I couldn't help wonder what the difference is between his book and The Compassionate Carnivore and the myriad others written by people who despise factory farming, yet claim to love animals (and of course love their "meat," and find a way to get it while not feeling bad about it).

The veracity of this statement hinges on Scott's definition of "inhumane," and that definition must be very, very restricted, and clearly unrelated to the realities of our modern factory farm system. At this point of course I'm waiting to hear how he views "farm" animals differently.

This year will be tough on many birds as further mudflat destruction to construct factories in China means that they may not be able to feed in areas that they have known in the past.
