This year was my third year helping to lead trips at the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival. Like my two previous visits I spent one day that I didn’t have to lead any field trips doing a run through central Florida looking for some of the specialty species of the region. I sat for quite some time, scoping the bird.

About a month before departure my clients asked me if we were going to the same sites in Ghana as the offerings of another, rather upmarket, birding tour company. Whether permits being issued are for selective harvesting or not, what is undeniable is that these reserves are being clear-felled.
