This Birding Rally’s competitors were companies that specialize in birding and nature tours. These included Sunbird (United Kingdom), Birding Ecotours (South Africa), Aviatur (Colombia), and two teams from the USA; FieldGuides and Surbound Expeditions. Our team was composed of Adam Kent, Tim Towles, a local guide, and myself.

Reschedule that visit to the in-laws, cancel the company picnic and drop everything else because GBD is in the house! This happens in Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and other major birdy places because GBD isn’t just viewed as a day to watch birds. Need to do laundry? Paint the porch? Go to traffic school?
