I did have issues with the host country in this case because of the horrible way they treat animals, and their lack of any animal cruelty laws. China was awarded the Olympics on the condition that they would meet certain standards of behavior. They will continue to keep dogs and cats in cages too small to even stand up.

According to this Associated Press story, if you are wearing a Sean John jacket with fur trim purchased from Macy's, that trim might have come from a dog indigenous to Asia known as a "raccoon dog." They belong to the canine species Nyctereutes procyonoides. Just how do Chinese workers kill raccoon dogs?"
