Its great diversity of habitats hosts an incredible bird count of over 900 species, including Africa’s 2nd highest list of endemics and near-endemics (after South Africa). Even with today’s environmental laws, we are losing species at an alarming rate, and with Ryan Zinke as Interior Secretary it’s no wonder. The persecution of these apex predators, especially wolves , is rampant among some hunters and cattle ranchers. A newly created U.S. But I digress.
