They are under very heavy hunting pressure in Serbia and after 15 years of campaign , are finally off the shooting list. Dalmatian Pelican Pelecanus crispus. With the geese rediscovered, an intensive campaign to remove introduced foxes began, and many geese were relocated from Buldir Island to islands they formerly inhabited. Brown Pelicans are not an unusual sight on the California coast. However, they were refound on Buldir Island, a remote island that never had any introduced mammals.
