Both bushtit species occasionally are supported by helpers when breeding ( source ). As I frequently mention, science is quite wonderful. It still is a cool bird looking a bit like a reptile. Different from the Black-throated Bushtit males, the Silver-throated males seem to be jerks as they do not participate in incubation.

Most likely, the researchers have indicated, the hatched birds would be viable and not too different from regular chickens, possibly less different than some of the odd breeds generated by more traditional methods. Well, maybe a little better than that but not much. The chickens were done in before hatching. Here’s the thing.

After one 3 year stint, they left with 131,405 specimens including birds, mammals, reptiles, plants and even human remains (which were only recently repatriated for burial in Africa!)
