The Importance of Citizen Science in Mexico

Howell does not place the White-tailed Hawk anywhere near Morelia, but I have seen it in every cuadrant of the city, and know for a fact that it breeds near the church I pastor. Mexico need much more citizen science, and there are far too few people doing it here. They were probably not preparing to go south.

My eBird Citizen Science Experiment

We drove for about 290 km through the 400 square kilometres expanse of Pancevacki Rit and found 8 breeding colonies with 252 occupied nests, or a density of 1.6 Two years ago, I was counting active nests of Rooks in the flat agricultural landscape north of Belgrade, Serbia. nests per 1 km2. And what is the trend of those Belgrade rookeries?

(In Intriguingly, there are far more Bald Ibises in captivity than there are in the wild, for this is a bird that breeds readily in confinement. Bald Ibises are curious birds, for they are happy breeding in close proximity to man.
