This means that every year, millions of birds fly by the city on their way between their breeding grounds in Northern Asia and their wintering spots in Southeast Asia and Australia. And yet it is. So, there is some hope.

They look crap but presumably offer some protection for the chicks, though not from each other (see the murderous activities within the nests in my previous post ). Apparently, when breeding, the two parents divide incubation duties, with one bird taking over the daytime duties and another one the nighttime. Lucky him, right?

Week 21: Our last week in Scotland

The boat Captain got us right in close. After the owners contacted the Royal Socieity for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), looking for an explanation as to where the heck all these birds came from, it was determined that the farm would be used as a feeding station. When were visiting Smoo cave, this one was right in the cave entrance.
