Wild bird rehabilitators want bird parents to feed their own babies. We also try to re-nest uninjured baby birds so we don’t interfere with a bird’s breeding cycle. It needs to be properly medicated and triaged. Most likely the bird will need to be medicated for a few days “just in case.”. After all, “Mother knows best.”

On August 21st, Maryjane Angelo of Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation in Pennsylvania received a call from a man who said his nephew was standing in the middle of a rural road, guarding a Bald Eagle. She gave him pain medication, checked in with her veterinarian, then settled him into a hospital box for the night.
