Ka’ena Point is also a breeding ground for the Federally protected Laysan albatross, where 45 nests were being carefully monitored by the non-profit Pacific Rim Conservation. But no one who has ever cared for another creature – be it bird, animal, or human – can comprehend, much less cope with, this kind of brutal, pointless killing.

July 24, 2010 BP brazenly says an internal investigation has cleared the company of all gross negligence in the spill.

A lovely looking and distinctive sounding bird (so they say, I sadly have not seen one…yet), the Kirtland’s Warbler can only be found during its breeding season in Jack Pine forests 5 to 20 years old in the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Previously, even researchers had problems getting access to nesting Kirtland’s Warblers.

Marc Hauser, a cognitive psychologist at Harvard University, recently opened his own such research lab and has 1,000 dogs lined up as subjects. If it did, the licking often prompts it to vomit up some of that kill for the other members of the pack to share. Other facilities are operating in the U.S. and Europe. Going to the Dogs.

Every now and the the loosing Loon would disappear like it had been killed and sunk. But now there is some research on that. From a press release about that research: >Common Loons (Gavia immer) nest on lakes across Canada and the northern U.S., Then it would reappear way far away and they’d stay apart for a while.

If the animal then touches or investigates the mark, it is taken as an indication that the animal perceives the reflected image as an image of itself, rather than of another animal. There was a breeding pair at Binjiang Forest Park this June. Most scientific research really just proves the obvious. Sometimes it works.
