Meanwhile, the females seem to have a much more relaxing life, at least in this early stage of the breeding season. You can see why here. My cats refuse to even try Fiery Minivets.

to the ongoing conservation of breeding Lesser Flamingos at Kimberley’s Kamfers Dam to the Albatross Task Force, which works with fishermen to find solutions to seabird bycatch (birds caught in fishermen’s nets). The small group was a good counterpart to the large, convivial ABA Safari group of 98 birders.

The return of the Banded Lapwing

There have been a lot of different birds around this year for various reasons, which mainly involve the climatic changes we experience from year to year. We have never seen as many Zebra Finches as we have this year and there are a lot more Budgerigars and Diamond Doves in the Broome area.

This juvenile Brown Goshawk spent an hour standing in the water source that is very popular with the Double-barred Finches and Zebra Finches that visit our garden. There were numerous birds stood around the edge of the lake and they were still in their breeding plumage and had their bills open in the heat.
