Baird’s Sparrow by Seagull Steve Julie’s was not a wild bird, well, at least not one that lived outdoors: My Best Bird of the Year, and the 22 preceding, was Charlie, a Chestnut-fronted Macaw I got as a captive-raised fledgling in 1989. She made a fool of me when I first met her, and again when she left me.

A Guan was collected in 1876 in a mangrove forest near the border between Peru and Ecuador. After all, what was thought as its habitat was heavily deteriorated and converted to agriculture as the human population grew. This flock is composed of about 54 birds including nine breeding pair. The adults presumably have already learned that humans are not usually good news even if not named Donald Trump. I guess you cannot be too choosy while traveling, as I have learned when on trips in Ecuador and other places. A Lesser Cuckoo stayed in one of the Nanhui microforests for a few days, not being afraid of humans at all.
