It is a bit worrying that while the Basel Zoo is listed by Google as having a page on the Red-tailed Laughingthrush , that page itself does not seem to exist anymore, and the species is not listed among the inhabitants of the aviary of the zoo. His obituary was published in Nature. Note to those readers who do not know Wham!:

The Storks of Africa

When I first started birding 25 years ago and asked what the rarest bird in my province was, the answer received was the Woolly-necked Stork, with just 3 or 4 breeding pairs in the big game reserves of Zululand. Satellite tracking has shown that these individuals migrate northwards through South and into East Africa during the winter months.
