Others may be perfect for a free morning on a business trip to Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, or Las Vegas. Ottawa NWR (Ohio). Some are great for a specific bird, others for thousands of birds, and others during a particular season. Some just seem to be rarity magnets. In Boston, a turkey was the cause of a 2 car accident during the morning commute. A woman in Ohio had a turkey crash through her windshield. Where I live, a man driving on his way to work in a southwestern Twin Cities suburb slammed into a turkey (follow the link and check out the photos of his car and face–yikes).

As a talked to a couple from Boston, new to birding, I spotted a Clapper Rail walking close behind us. ” Meanwhile, a birder from Ohio was leading a small group down a nearby trail, looking down–“Hooded! Shon Rahrig : While living in Ohio in 1999, Rahrig allegedly adopted several cats and a puppy from local shelters and tortured them sadistically. Rydzewski was convicted of “torturing or injuring” an animal, and he has since been arrested for assaulting people and resisting arrest. His whereabouts are unknown.

She lives at Indigo Hill, an 80-acre wildlife sanctuary in Appalachian Ohio with her husband, Bill Thompson III, their children Phoebe and Liam, and their Boston terrier, Chet Baker. Ohio has tracked two families of their state-endangered breeding sandhill cranes and found them to have wintered over in Tennessee in 2010.
