We really enjoyed the book a lot! The author, Elizabeth Rogers, is also the co-author of the New York Times bestseller The Green Book.

A good portion of the book is about the rescue dogs that grieved with her and comforted her during this time. Barth is also writing a second book: Covered in Fur: Lessons Learned Living With Six Dogs. I asked when I called the shelter. The non profit animal shelter that had Rascal was run by a state trooper. She’s gentle.
