I started the campaign for the protection of Beljarica, raising public awareness and collecting more than 10,000 petition signatures, not only because of its Eurasian Otters , White-tailed Eagles , Black Storks , Icterine and Eastern Olivaceous Warblers , etc., but because this large spillway protects the city from flooding.

Rarer than Tigers: the Indian Wild Dog

Nitin hopes to enlarge his collection of photos of Tigers. In the morning, still sleepy, we enter the jungle, where a sounder of Indian Boars (a long-maned subspecies Sus scrofa cristatus ) is watching us, standing among the first trees, right next to the road. Anyway, it is winter and the snakes should be hibernating.

We’re passing the Dasada village where shop owners and artisans are opening their doors, collecting rubbish in the street and burning it, while standing around those small fires and warming themselves up. Back on dirt tracks by a Desert Wheatear decorated bush (bellow), to spot five or six Wild boars disappearing among the bushes.

Finding an Asian Openbill in Singapore-second ever record!

Arriving in Singapore we soon collected our bags and got ourselves a NETS card for travel on public transport and to also use in supermarkets. Squirrels, water monitors, lizards, wild boar, macaque monkeys and more had too often stopped us in our tracks when we heard leaves rustling or odd sounds initially!
