Yellow-headed Blackbirds singing in the reeds allowed us to get an arm’s length away. Speaking of hawks, two talented and extremely knowledgeable falconers, Marie Gaspari Crawford and Chloe Bowen, shared with us their birds and their experiences. Yellow-headed Blackbird was another lifer for me, and omnipresent.

At the same time, a Peregrine Falcon flies across the valley. The cuisine was magnificent, especially lamb. Dalmatian Pelican – Pelecanus crispus. Peregrine Falcon – Falco peregrinus. Blackbird – Turdus merula. and Apennine peninsulas (30 + 50 ind.). Also, trekking poles proved useful.
