You can easily get there via public transport by taking the train to Lara from either Geelong or Melbourne if you do not have access to a vehicle. It is free to enter Serendip Sanctuary and as you drive or walk up the road into the parking area there are opportunities to see kangaroos and wallabies as you can see above.

Whether you enjoy hiking, birding or cycling there is something for everyone. There were many birds high up in the trees in the Perth Hills and it made for challenging birding! The picnic area offers good opportunities to encounter Grey Kangaroos and they are particularly large animals. Glen Brook Dam.
