Forget lions, tigers, and bears – if Internet listicles are to be believed, all of Oz is full of crocodiles, sharks, jellyfish, snakes, spiders – even magpies – that are dead set on killing, maiming, or injuring any humans they encounter. One of these killers even has the word “death” in its name, for crying out loud.

But I only rehabbed birds, so I had to do research and call my mammal rehabber friends. I didn’t know the set up required for a black bear, or how high a Florida panther can actually jump. It was when Hélène says to Ned, “And when the stakes were the highest, you raised an eagle on your glove.”. Are you still rehabbing birds?

Scientific research and expertise are needed here. The question can be raised: Why should these organisms be killed and others not be killed? This, however, is not our world, so I don’t understand the bearing of the question. If so, no moral objection based on the killing of animals could be raised to the eating of meat.
