One of these killers even has the word “death” in its name, for crying out loud.

It bears mentioning that the name of the series doesn’t refer to the physical dimensions of the featured species, but the size of the tiny black-and-white illustrations of each bird. It’s the least I can do for a species that’s caused me almost no identification angst over the years.
