The wildlife center was an hour away if I was lucky. It was Los Angeles, after all, where mileage has no bearing on time, but where time was precious for my little rescue on this crystal morning. That was my first trip to California Wildlife Center. I scrambled for a box. I was mortified. And, I would have understood.
