If it was any indication of where my passion lay, instead of racing home like the proverbial bat out of hell, I stayed put to monitor this supposed nest. We counted seven of these alluring birds while I killed my camera battery. I was thrilled to see a Short-tailed Hawk fly in.

Tiphys died either of a snakebite or of a mysterious illness but he was not killed by either a tiger or a rhinoceros. The Bat Hawk mainly eats bats, as the name suggests – in a curiously precise statement, Wikipedia claims that 49.3% I guess he should have stuck with the substantially less dangerous trogons.
