Falcons are now known to be related to parrots; vultures to be cousins of storks. For example, in California, populations of birds like Aleutian Cackling Goose have dramatically increased…but where did our Fulvous Whistling-Ducks go? Whereas checklists used to start with loons, they now begin with waterfowl.

And we did , for the Peregrine Falcon and Osprey , the Brown Pelican and Bald Eagle. And oh crap, you guys, we really have to do something about the California Condor situation right now, but what? We could do it! Then the 80s happened. And no one had seen the Eskimo Curlew around in a while. Will it work?
