Bathing at the Poo Ponds

It is challenging when you rely on a bicycle for transport for most of the week, but I have learnt to read the sky over the years and storms are isolated and often further away than you think. The family are inside the Poo Pond fence, so they are protected to a certain extent, but they are still their usual vocal selves.

Serendip Sanctuary, Victoria

Serendip Sanctuary is a 250 ha protected area that is near the You Yangs and the small town of Lara, Victoria. You can easily get there via public transport by taking the train to Lara from either Geelong or Melbourne if you do not have access to a vehicle. Hiding in plain sight just like they are all across Australia.

Berowra and Mt Kuring-gai trails

On our recent trip to Sydney we explored several areas that were easily reached by public transport & we discovered that there are some great walk trails that start near train stations. There were some mosquitoes in that area and we wore protection-nothing worse than trying to hear birds and all you can hear is buzzing around your ears!
