Ive been looking at some penguin webcams (from zoos) and ive noticed that the penguins seem to spend most of their time just standing around or lying down. Check out the edinburgh zoo penguin cam if you want to see what i mean. They almost never move around their enclosure. Is that normal?

Last month woodpeckers, this month penguins. None fly, most are curious and social, which probably contributes to our cultural perception of penguins as one step away from human. They are software mascots, cartoon characters, animated film dancers, children’s book heroes, zoo celebrities, and documentary film stars.
