They are not necessarily the biggest African animals, but represented those that were considered a real hunter’s worthy prey or “game” – the African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black Rhinoceros, Leopard and king of the jungle, the Lion (which of course doesn’t inhabit jungle but savanna!).

Several artificial waterholes that have been placed along these riverbeds are a magnet for wildlife and Leeudril is one such location. The Leopard was still a slight, young animal and this may have even been her first larger kill.

Searching for kiwi is unlike spotlighting that I’ve done while looking for nocturnal animals in the past. Hes previously poked albatrosses with sticks in Hawaii, provided target practice for gulls in California, chased monkeys up and down hills Uganda, wrestled sharks in the Bahamas and played God with grasshopper genetics in Namibia.
