Regarding Adam's comment yesterday about low-cost spay/neuter, the reason this particular one is low-cost is that it is subsidized by the county and city (and maybe State, I'm not sure). However, she does have people who can help, and now that Pahokee's open they will focus some time each week on Project Treadstone! Can you imagine?

A feral kitten captured and neutered by a small non-profit, somewhat militant organization, was on display at our local Massachusetts Society Prevention of Cruelty Association branch, which often took these feral cats in the hope of finding homes for them. This is but one rescue story. Be the person your dog thinks you are.

From the feral cats of Project Treadstone to Charles' back surgery to problems with Violet's Vetsulin (insulin for dogs), we had more than our share of issues. For these reasons, my vet had no problem with me stockpiling Vetsulin. Once again, I am reminded of the micro aspect of helping animals. What a relief!
