THE DUTCH parliament has voted overwhelmingly to ban the ritual slaughter of livestock. This could halt production of kosher and halal meat in the Netherlands – and lead to similar campaigns in other European countries. Excerpted from the Irish Times.

Interestingly, the campaigns of happy meaters are acknowledged for perhaps being somewhat of a scam with the next sentence. Potent if symbolic?

On March 11th, RPA sent the governors of all 50 states a letter and two factsheets urging them to help get their land-grant universities (LGUs) out of the meat industry.
