They sent someone over right away with 2 humane ‘catch cages’. We’ve dealt with many animal welfare agencies around the world, but have never encountered one so responsive, helpful and positive as the Humane Society of Grand Bahama. She is blind in her left eye, and has only a little vision in her right eye.

Humar, pictured on the right, is just one animal to have suffered this traditional, yet ineffective treatment, to horrifying effect. Like many poor people in Morocco, Humar’s owner had little chance of being able to afford a vet – or even find one close by. We don’t really mean that they will be lined up and shot.
