Someone had called in an animal cruelty report. I had a couple of dogs when I was a kid, but I mostly grew up with cats. I have a lot of patience with cats. I don't believe that any cat is unadoptable, even feral cats. But I'm no dog expert. All eight of the puppies were in foster care.

Mike Beebe has signed into law new animal-cruelty restrictions that make aggravated cruelty to cats, dogs and horses a felony on the first offense. Arkansas becomes the 46th state to make cruelty to animals a felony, according to the Humane Society of the United States.

A farm-animal breeder who ran what a prosecutor called "the zoo from hell" was convicted Tuesday of animal cruelty. A jury in West Haverstraw deliberated less than two hours before convicting Robert Everle of all 13 charges of torturing, injuring and starving animals. And people wonder why I'm so disappointed by humans.
