This morning I posted " On California's Animal Abuse Registry Proposal " over at Animal Rights & AntiOppression and welcome any discussion about it. The outcome: "worship of human beings." What a fitting addition to discussions about speciesism!

Other scenes show a newborn chimpanzee being taken from its mother and an adult screaming as a lab worker aims a tranquilizer gun before the animal falls sedated from a shelf to the floor. Here is a link to the Humane Society. I couldn't get the video to work for some reason.

I don't believe they are working for human welfare. I don't believe they want an honest dialogue about what they are doing to animals. I do believe they want prestige, tenure, royalties and patent rights. I don't believe they are "brave" for "standing up" to animal rights activists. I'm sorry, but I am not moved.

My goal is to be the best human I can be and make the world a better place and stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Tags: Activism Current Affairs Language animal rights humor Veganism. He looked at me and said, "Then, why do you even give a shit?". Yes, we all get it. But I don't see it that way.

So why is one type of animal cruelty (dogfighting) more reprehensible than another (lobster-boiling)? If you are a non-meat-eating, non-leather-wearing, non-shampoo-using, animal-rights activist for PETA, then it is not hypocritical to judge Vick for animal abuse. I think we have it backward.
