The Great Black Hawk – a species with a native range in Mexico to South America – had been spotted in this park for weeks, but not every day. Dark eyes peered down at us, its sharp yellow and black bill perfect for scooping up unsuspecting squirrels from the ground below. Great Black Hawks are beautiful.
